This is between Kemmerer and Afton. People who live around here come up to the side of the trail to cheer the mushers.
This race is really enjoyable except they have to run hard to finish. It means every dog team is so professional.
It's tuff. but it's enjoyable. People are friendly, but a musher is only a single human-being on the trail. Musher has his dogs as teammates. Who understands what is happening or what they are thinking when they are on the trail? In this place, Keizo Funatsu said "here was a very tuff stage because one of my dogs was on the sled for most of the trail ". One dog could not run because of the hot weather, so he carried the dog on the sled for about 40 miles.
